Extracurriculars: Which clubs are the best?

Your activities say a lot about who you are and what you care about, so our advice is simple: do what you love.

The Secret: Colleges don’t care about what you did in high school.

What they really care about is what you will do during and after college, and the best way they can predict this is to look at your passion and motivation. They know you won’t continue to be the president of your high school debate team. They don’t even expect you to be the president of the college debate team. But they will see that you originally started debate because you loved talking about social justice issues, and they can imagine that you will continue to do this in college and beyond.

Worry about meaningfulness, not impressiveness.

Do things for yourself, not “just for college”

Are you making meaning from your activities?
